Frank Ricciuti

seperator

A quietly energetic man, Frank Ricciuti has a passion for sports and a calling for working with young people. He volunteers for the Davedi Club.

Frank’s parents, Carmine and Anna (Giordano), were born in Calabria, Italy and immigrated separately to Canada, met here, married and raised their family in North Bay. Frank has two brothers, Alfredo (son Matteo) and partner Liane (daughter Elle), Anthony (wife Abby and baby Aliza). The brothers learned Italian naturally by being around their grandparents and their large family. Frank remembers childhood Italian meals with relish and now enjoys Sunday dinner at his parents’ house with the variety of pastas and sauces and meats made by his mother, a great creative cook.

Congratulations to Frank and his fiancée Erika Weidl on creating a new branch of the family when they get married next year. Like Frank, Erika prefers to live in a city with a small town feel.

Frank has many work and volunteer activities, most of them with young people. He teaches in Sturgeon Falls for the Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board, teaches at Nipissing University (undergraduate Physical Education class) and at Canadore College (ESL instructor), provides respite care through HANDS and works at the Children’s Aid Society as a Child Youth Worker. He is head coach for the St. Joseph Scollard Hall Junior Boys Soccer team and assistant coach for the under 8 Developmental Rep soccer team, North Bay Shield.

At 8 years old he accompanied his father Carmine to the Carmine Ricciuti Christmas Special to raise money for the Santa Fund. “Look what my dad is doing!” he thought with admiration. When Vince Orlando called him to join the Davedi Youth Initiative a few years later, he was ready to volunteer. Together with his friends Rob Perrotta and Joseph Delfino, and under the mentorship of Hub Fedeli, Frank Battigaglia and Jim Marmino, they initiated and worked with others on soccer teams, ping pong tournaments, scopa games, wrestling, golf tournaments and developing the membership lounge. Thank you, Frank.

Frank is a long-time member of the Club Executive (13 years). They have made the Davedi Hall into an elegant showcase; the Davedi service is second to none. That is why Frank and his fiancée have chosen the Davedi Club for their wedding venue. Auguri!
