January 28th is the first Dinner Meeting for 2016. I encourage everyone to come out to enjoy the meal and friendship The respective chairs will be present at the meeting to present their reports for the past year and their projected budgets for the upcoming year.

MEMBERSHIPS FOR 2016

Please remember to renew your membership for 2015. You can either pay at the office which is open from 9 – 5:30 every weekday or you can send in a cheque by mail (payable to “Davedi Club”). Please make sure you include all your contact information, including your e-mail address.

DEADLINE IS TUESDAY MARCH 31st 2015 to renew or register for membership.

MARKETTING

I would like to welcome Robert Perrotta, as co -chairperson of the marketing committee. Robert brings a background and good knowledge of computer expertise.

Since our last report, we have published and distributed issue #7 of the Italian Pride. There are extra copies at the club, for members and friends. It will also be available at our general dinner meeting, january 28th, 2016.

The club activities have been in several media releases. It is good publicity for events, donations to local charities, and club functions.

We are now planning the order of merit dinner, to be held on Saturday, April 30 , 2016. The committee members for this event are: President Vince Orlando, Mike Ianiro, Sam Guistra, Joe Urso, Benito Zimbalatti, and myself. An announcement of the chosen honorees for this year, will be made at the end of January.

We miss Frank Battigaglia as part of our Friday luncheon team. I would like to thank the hard work of our Friday luncheon volunteer team: team leader, Sandro Cipparronne, Sam Guistra, Sam Tignanelli, And also Lavinia Eberhardt. It should be noted that the Friday luncheon numbers are up. We have had many compliments from our customers on the great food and menu choices.

The executive has approved the installation of a framed photo of Frank Battigaglia, in the front hall, designated as an “Honourary President” for his 53 years of active membership and service to the club.

Annual “Roast Chestnuts and Stories” (opera).

Davedi Club presents LATIN SWING. Lina Sanchioni and her band from Sudbury play Italian favourites, polkas, dance music, jazz.

SPORTS

The Davedi Club will be hosting it’s popular annual Superbowl Party again this year for Club members and our friends. This year’s NFL final takes place Sunday February 7th. Kickoff scheduled for 6:30pm.

The game will be shown on our 200 inch High Definition screen. This is always a fun time at the Club so don’t miss it! Information about this event will be posted on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/thedavediclub/

Ladies Auxiliary President’s Message

Happy New Year to all! I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays. As we kick off, I want to say thank you to our past executive and congrats to our incoming. I hope this year brings new events and new youth to the Ladies Auxiliary. I look forward to working with the team.

Every Wednesday evening 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Friendly competition ( we don’t track overall standings or anything formal like that)

the atmosphere is entirely one of camaraderie & having fun. The range of skills is quite broad…some are very good at the game; others so-so.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you “the ladies & men” for your contribution towards making The Davedi Club better. To management and staff, it was a pleasure to work with you, and thank you for the little things you did along the way. To the ladies, thank you for your kindness and support during my three-year term as your President. Together we have accomplished a lot. The Ladies Auxiliary are all amazing women who bring diversity to the group, and I hope that we can continue to move forward and achieve our goals.
