PRESIDENT’S MESSAGES

Thanks to the hard work of many volunteers and staff, the business side of the Davedi Club is prosperous.

I encourage you to come out and support the cultural events and enjoy your membership in this important Italian organisation. We are proud of the history and heritage of our Club, and its contribution to the entire North Bay community. Since 1952 the Davedi Club has contributed to making the City of North Bay a better place for everyone to live. As a non profit organization we have helped other service clubs like Rotary, many charities and not for profit organizations most recently the Dionne Quints Museum, the Serenity Hospice, Laurentian Ski Hill, North Bay Symphony and over 100 other organizations in our community. Our philosophy has always been to promote the fields of music, education, and sports….three components for better and healthier family lives.

Looking forward to seeing you at the next members’ dinner and general meeting on June 29 7 p.m. and the Family Festival on July 9.

Ways and Means

The Davedi Family Picnic will take place on July 9 with games for children in the afternoon and a great family feast. Please set this afternoon aside to attend with your family, children, grandchildren and friends. More information coming soon.

Ladies Auxiliary President’s Message

I wish to thank Rita Azzano for convening our spaghetti supper every month. Our May spaghetti supper was very well attended and thanks to all the volunteers, another huge success. Our last spaghetti supper before our break will be held on Sunday, June 25th and we hope to see you there as a guest or a volunteer.

Nella Verardi is in full swing in the preparation for our convention at the end of September. Please, ladies who wish to attend, get your $75.00 to Nella as soon as possible so that she can get our numbers ready for the big day. This event takes a lot of preparation and the sooner she knows how many people she will be dealing with, the better. Let us all give Nella our full co-operation.

A lot of interest by exhibitors has been shown in our Craft show, so we are getting a good start on this event. Please, when you are asked to give our leaders support, be it baking or volunteering to work at the event, do not hesitate to offer your help. This is one of our main resources and we would like to continue with the trend.

We had our dinner meeting on Tuesday, June 13th. Over 50 ladies attended and had a wonderful time. The “surprise” menu was full of delicious tastes and unique recipes.

Have a safe and happy summer. Our next meeting is September 12.

Golf Tournament

This year the Golf Tournament is will be at Pinewood Park on July 16. Tickets are $50 and include dinner and a round of golf. Dinner alone $20. Contact the office for more information or to register.

The Davedi is again having the refreshment tent at Summer in the Park on August 4 and 5. We are still looking for volunteers with Smart Serve. Contact the Office.

Culture

Thanks to all who made the 65th Anniversary Gala an elegant success. The past and present Presidents and Ladies Auxiliary Presidents were acknowledged and applauded for their contribution to the Davedi Club for 65 years. The music of the Orchestra Silvani emphasised the Italian culture we celebrate.
