Ford World Women’s Curling Championship. They will be with us to sign autographs on Tuesday March 20 and share an Italian pasta dinner with us.

Ladies Auxiliary President’s Message

Another month is suddenly behind us and we are already looking forward to, and working toward, some of our future events.

Please Note: the Davedi’s General Meeting for March has been changed to Tuesday, March 20. President Vince has graciously invited the Italian Women‘s Curling Team to join us for dinner on that evening. There will be a “Meet and Greet Hour” from 6:30 to 7:30 to give us some time to welcome the group and wish them much success in their curling venture. Davedi Ladies, come out and welcome this group with open arms and show them how proud we are of them.

Please get groups of your friends, co-workers and family together to come out and enjoy the evening of good friends and good food.

Other events coming up –

Ÿ our spaghetti supper is on Sunday, March 25.
We will be having a workshop on making “Easter Bread” on Tuesday, March 27th at 1.30 PM. We already have 7 signed up and the limit is 10. Please call the office if you are interested.
Tuesday, June 20th will be the ladies “end of season dinner”
Our convention this year is on Sept. 28th, 29th & 30th in Timmins. Louise Defonzo is taking registrations until June 20th. Please contact Louise if you are interested in participating.

We also have our fall Craft show coming up. Sylvia Antinozzi is in charge and will be contacting us with more information.
Last but not least, our Christmas bake sale will be in early December.
We have been a very active club and really appreciate all the work you do and I am sure will continue to do. Come out whenever you can and enjoy the art of volunteerism – It really is rewarding.

Italian Easter Bread: Pane Di Pasqua. Join us on Tuesday March 27 1.30p.m. to 4 p.m to find out how to make braided Easter bread and to take a delicious loaf home. Materials fee $4.00. Pre-registration required. Call 705-474-4190.

Movie: “For a Fistful of Dollars”. “Per un pugno di dollari”. Join us on March 23 at 6p.m. for pizza and this classic spaghetti western with Clint Eastwood. $10

Dance with North Bay group “Solid Gold” “Gruppo d’oro puro” Saturday April 28. Dinner at 6.30 followed by easy listening and dancing music. $30

Italian Family Picnic, Festa italiana on Sunday July 22. Planning is going on now for a fine family picnic in the afternoon and evening with barbeque and live music and games in the Italian tradition. Phone me if you would like to volunteer!

Scopa Tournament. The sports committee is excited to announce the date for our annual scopa tournament. It will be held at the Davedi Club on Sunday, March 11th from 1-5. All members are invited to participate in this tournament. This event is open for the public as well.

*Food will be provided for tournament entree’s*

* A prize will be given to the winner of the tournament!*

Italian Classes for Beginners: Lezioni d’italiano per i principanti

Italian classes will be held at the Davedi Club, starting Tuesday March 20 for 9 weeks, from 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Registration fee of $35.00 includes the book “Italian Conversation. Ciao! Come va?” from Collins Easy Learning.
