PRESIDENT’S MESSAGES

Welcome all members and friends to the Davedi 65th Anniversary Celebration on May 20. Thanks to all the volunteers over the last 65 years who have made this Club such a great hub of Italian pride and service in this community. I encourage all members to join us on Saturday. Tickets available at the office.

Communication with our members is crucial…. for the next 65 years! We are in urgent need of a volunteer to compile and send out the bulletin. This is a monthly commitment of about 4 hours. Please get in touch with me if you are able to contribute to our Club in this way.

Looking forward to seeing you at the next member’s dinner and meeting on May 25. Dinner is at 7.00

Ladies Auxiliary President’s Message

First of all, I would like to thank all the ladies for coming out to our May meeting. It was heartwarming to see such a great turnout. Hopefully, you will continue with this attitude towards our 65th ANNIVERSARY DINNER on May 20. What could make everyone more proud than having our members support this very important event. We must continue to embrace our heritage in every way we can. The Davedi Club is our only outlet to showcase our pride of being Italian.

Plans are coming along for our June 13th Ladies Dinner Meeting with a few surprises. Cocktails at 5:30, Dinner at 6:00 PM. Menu – That’s the surprise! Cost – $13.00. Camaraderie, friendship & laughs – FREE. We are looking forward to seeing all the ladies there.

Also, I notice the “La nostra piccola biblioteca…our little free library” is seeing a lot of activity. Please take advantage of the opportunity to exchange books.

Joke of the day:
There was a very gracious lady who was mailing an old family Bible to her brother in another part of the country.
“Is there anything breakable in here?” asked the postal clerk.
“Only the Ten Commandments”. answered the lady.

Culture and Ways and Means

65th Anniversary Gala Celebration May 20. Come out and enjoy a fine meal and live music to celebrate this important anniversary and Canada 150. Cocktails 5.30, Dinner 6.30, greetings from honoured guests and live music. Tickets $60 from the office 705-474-4190.

Save the date Davedi Family Festival July 9 2017 for all members, families, friends and community. Sunday July 9th 2017 afternoon and evening. Games for all, great food, entertainment.

Sports Committee

The sports committee would like to thank Northland Wrestling for their event on Saturday, May 6th with a sold out crowd. We look forward to hosting the next event on August 12th. The mens first division soccer team have been signed for the summer league. Details for the league will be confirmed in the next week. We will glady share the team schedule on the website along with the use of social media. Thank you everyone for your continued support!
