My Dear Members,

I want to thank Mike Ianiro and his committee for a job very well done for the Grape Stomping Festival. It was a great success with everyone having a wonderful time.

This year, the Davedi Club Executive along with the Ladies Auxiliary Executive will be hosting the New Year`s Eve Celebration and Dance. Please set this date aside and plan to attend with your friends and other Club Members. For more information, please come on out to the next General Meeting where I hope to see you all.

Notice: October General Meeting

Once again, please remember that nominations for all Club Executive / Directors positions will take place at October General Dinner Meeting Thursday October 27th. If you are considering to run for any of these positions, make sure you are qualified and will be dedicated to serve the Club well in your chosen area. To run for office, you must be a paid member in good standing for the past two years and be a regular attendee of Club meetings. Nomination forms will be available that evening. Ladies Auxiliary President’s Message

I hope that all enjoyed a good thanksgiving with their family.

The Ladies continue to have a good showing at our meetings. Thank you to everyone for coming out. I would like to invite our Ladies and their guests to our next meeting on November 8th at 7pm. Elections for the 2017 Ladies Auxiliary positions will be at the November meeting.

Our Annual Craft Show is the first weekend of November on the 5th and 6th. We have an excellent line up of Artisans. We are still in need of some volunteers, if interested please contact Nancy White (nwt31@hotmail.com).
The Bake Sale is also fast approaching, please let us know if you are available to help with baking.

Fall is here, and the Ladies are into another busy season!

I would like to encourage everyone to come to our Annual “Craft Show” where we will be accepting “Food Bank Donations” all weekend of this event. Please share the enclosed poster with your friends & family.

Election time is here!! Nomination form & guidelines are enclosed. We have many available positions if you are interested being nominated for any of them. I encourage you to drop off your nomination form at the office in an envelope addressed to me by Nov. 4th. As noted in our President`s Message, nomination of candidates & Elections for the Ladies’ Executive shall take place at our next general meeting on Tuesday Nov. 8th. For more information, please call me at 705-494 -7474. We want to encourage all who may be interested!

BAKE SALE – If you are interested in helping in any way or donating baking for this event, please contact Nella Verardi or myself. Any little working hands helps!

The Annual Family Christmas Party will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 PM on Sunday December 18, 2016

The Davedi Club Grape Stomping Festival

On Saturday October 15 we held the annual Grape Stomping Festival. The evening was a fun packed night with many guests enjoying a glimpse of our Italian culture. Mike Monaghan from the Moose FM did a great job stepping in at moments notice to emcee the evening.

To the handful of volunteers that did help throughout the evening, Sandro
Cipparrone, Domenic Mascioli, Jim Marmino, Sam Giustra, Domenic Muratore, Alfredo Celebre, and our newest member Frank Atwood. A BIG heartfelt thank you goes to you gentlemen (never would have happened without you). I also want to thank Cathy Fruci for organizing the Vendemmia Parade and her volunteers: Donna Adams, Nella and Settimio Verardi, Maria Gosselin, Gina Graff, Lucia Doyle, Lynn Mulette, Shirley Landry, Joe Pavone, Mariano Cirullo, Ed Valenti, Italo Servello. Finally, I would like to thank Phillip Penna (Manager), the kitchen and serving staff for making sure everything went without a hitch.

It has been a wonderful experience chairing this event for the past few years and I look very much forward to handing it over to the new chair.

With Serie A soccer, the National Hockey League, NBA and National Football League all starting, we hope to have designated times for games at the Club for members as well as for the public. Stay tuned for updates on the Davedi Club website as well as through social media on upcoming sporting events.
