PRESIDENT’S MESSAGES

Member’s dinner and meeting Thursday October 26. This is nomination night for the Executive for 2018. We are looking forward to receiving nominations for all positions from people who have the good of our Italian culture and our Club in their hearts, and who have the time and energy to volunteer. Elections follow in November.

The business side of the club is going very well with many business events. An interesting dilemma is that now we have to work hard to find dates for our own Club and cultural events.

Great news, the Davedi Club Grape Stomping event is nearly sold out!!

Looking forward to seeing you at the Member’s dinner and meeting. Bring a guest!

Ladies Auxiliary President’s Message

These are my sentiments expressed to the nearly 200 Ladies who attended our Northern Ontario Italian Ladies Auxiliary Convention.

“Buona sera Signore, – mi chiamo Lena Fedeli – presidentessa del Davedi Club sezione ausiliaria. Sono molto lieta di avere l’onore di acogliere tutte voi in occasione del nostro cinquantaquattresimo anniversario. There are no words to express the pride I feel for our Italian community, as I am sure you have the same sentiment for your communities.

We have many dedicated ladies in our club, that no matter what the tasks are, they find ways to get it done. We also have many who, at this time in their lives with raising children, working and or bringing their children to their many activities cannot be involved other than being there when we ask for baking or other tasks. When their time comes, I’m sure they will be there.

In this society, women have come a long way. They have proven that they can become doctors, lawyers, bankers, run large corporations or choose to stay home and run that corporation successfully. We can proudly stand up to any person and know full well that we are all equal in our journey of life.

We are not from the school of “We are women, hear us roar”. But from the school of “We are women – WATCH US SOAR”.

Keep going ladies – the rewards are priceless. Thank you.”

We are happy to announce that Northland Wrestling has partnered with Davedi Club once again for shows in 2018. Please stay tuned to dates. The sold-out shows have drawn great attention to the club on a local front, but also on a national front!

With 2017 coming close to an end, I would like to thank all members, volunteers, directors and executives for their continued support during the year for the various sporting events.

Grape Stomping Festival

Friday October 20 2017. Cocktails 5.30. Buffet Dinner 6.30. Grape Stomping Parade. Dancing 9 p.m. DJ and photo booth by Johnny Miller. Tickets $30. NEARLY SOLD OUT. Call the office for the last remaining tickets.

Election for the 2018 Executive

Nominations for all Club Executive / Directors positions will take place at October General Dinner Meeting Thursday October 26th. If you are considering running for any of these positions, make sure you are qualified and will be dedicated to serve the Club well in your chosen area. DAVEDI CLUB FAMILY CHRISTMAS PARTY

The Annual Family Christmas Party will be held on Sunday December 17, 2017. Please advise the office of names & ages of children (12 and under) & their parents by December 9th so we can prepare their gifts from Santa and no child goes without. More details to follow.
