President’s Message

First and foremost I’d like to welcome the Ladies Auxiliary members back from the NOILA Convention in Timmins where they had a wonderful time with their colleagues from the other northern Italian-Canadian clubs.

Our Club is very busy 7 days a week. In-house events have reached an all time high with the sell out Grape Stomping evening.

A big thank you to Sandro Cipparone and Angela Johnson in the office for their professionalism, dedication and commitment!

To all volunteers, committees and the entire Davedi Culture Team….keep up the good work

Ladies Auxiliary 

Our 2018 Northern Ontario Italian Ladies Convention in Timmins has come and gone and our only complaint is that we ate too much, but many of us danced it off at our event on Saturday evening.  What wonderful hosts Timmins were and we thank them for their wonderful live entertainment. They had about a 20 piece band and a couple of singers that played all the oldie-goldies that we were all familiar with.

We hope you all had a “Blessed and Happy” Thanksgiving and of course ate too much, but enjoyed the family, friends and food.

Our September Spaghetti Supper went very well and I wish to thank all those who participated and helped make the hostess’ job a lot easier. The next Spaghetti supper is October 28. 

It takes Cultural Committee many months to arrange and prepare events in the hopes to keep our Italian Culture active.  We truly need your help and participation to keep these events going. Please give them a call with suggestions or offers to assist in these events. This would be greatly appreciated.

Nominations for all Club Executive / Directors positions will take place at October General Dinner Meeting Wednesday October 24. If you are considering running for any of these positions, make sure you are qualified and will be dedicated to serve the Club well in your chosen area. DAVEDI CLUB FAMILY CHRISTMAS PARTY

The Annual Family Christmas Party will be held on Sunday December 16, 2017.  Adults $15 children under 12 free. Please advise the office of names & ages of children (12 and under) & their parents by December 9th so we can prepare their gifts from Santa and no child goes without. More details to follow. 

Natalie Aquino….We are pleased to have the very talented Vocalist Natalie Aquino providing us with an evening of wonderful entertainment with her depth and contrast of emotions in lyrics as well as instrumental music.

Art? Music? Humour? Lifestyle?  We need your ideas for sharing Italian culture. Here are some words to get your ideas started with an Italian twist….movies (la cinema), speakers (i oratori), singing (la canzone), cooking (la cucina), magician ( l’illusionisto), comedian (il comico), travelogue (il diario di viaggio), art display (la mostra d’arte).  Let us know what you are interested in. Let us know what you would like to do.

Bingo Fundraising is essential for under writing many Cultural events.  We need volunteers that will step up and give assistance doing our regular Bingo’s, if we can not get volunteers we will review and possible discontinue our partnership with doing the Bingo’s. (Sundays 9:15 pm) please call the office.

We would like to thank everyone who supported the various sports events that occurred throughout 2018.  We look forward to developing more activities and events that are geared to towards sports for our members as well for the community of North Bay.  Special thanks to all committee members and volunteers who supported us through hard work and dedication
